CALL FOR APPLICATION FOR THE JOURNALISTS INFORMATION INTEGRITY ACADEMY
Association of Journalists of Kosovo - AJK opens the call for applications for journalists and journalism students for Journalists Information Integrity Academy. This event is organized with the support of the National Democratic Institute - NDI and USAID in Kosovo.
Through this academy, AJK will provide a series of training and discussions related to information integrity, professionalism in journalism and the presence of disinformation, ethics in reporting with a special focus on women’s portrayal in the media and legal perspective of journalism and media.
The six modules of the Journalists Information Integrity Academy include the following topics:
Module 1: Fact-checking and evaluating information
Module 2: Fact-checking videos and images
Module 3: The rise of disinformation and election coverage
Module 4: Gendered disinformation and violence against women in politics
Module 5: Legal aspects of the activity of journalists
Module 6: Preparing and publishing a article/story
Study visit in the region
Some of the modules will be led by international experts. At the end of them, each participant is expected to contribute to society by raising awareness with an article/story on the topics given during the training. Participants will be certified upon completion of the six modules.
Application criteria
- Who and how can apply?
- Journalists who are legal residents of Kosovo and over the age of 18 at the time of completing the application. Journalists must be employed in the media registered in Kosovo or freelance. Journalists must be registered with the Kosovo Journalists Association.
- Students of the departments of Journalism, Mass Communication, Communication Design in public or private universities.

- Evaluation Criteria
For the selection of participants, the evaluation panel will consider the following criteria:
- Suitability of studies, profession and work experience with the modules and topics of the academy.
- Knowledge of English language at an intermediate level is necessary as the realization of the modules will be in English (without translation).
- Quality of cover letter.
- Willingness to engage fully during the development of the academy. Participants are expected to participate in all modules and engage in other activities included in the program.
