Unacceptable Behavior by Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti Toward Journalist Arbëreshë Uka
The Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AGK) strongly condemns the behavior and attitude of acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti toward Klan Kosova journalist Arbëreshë Uka during a public statement.
Journalist Uka had asked Kurti about the lack of medical supplies at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK), to which he responded in an arrogant tone, saying: “Forget the albumins. Tell your owner, your television station, to return the 62 million to Telekom.”
This response by Kurti represents an unacceptable approach toward the media and journalists, and a clear attempt to undermine their work and deflect attention from the government’s lack of transparency during his time in office.
Such attacks by Kurti, his government, and his political party have significantly contributed to Kosovo’s drastic decline in the media freedom index.
