RTK Employees Two Weeks Unpaid — Government Urged to Release Budget
The Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AJK) is deeply concerned that 700 RTK employees have gone unpaid for the month of July. AJK is worried about the financial wellbeing of these workers, who continue to perform their duties throughout August without compensation.
AJK calls on RTK management to step up efforts to secure the necessary funding and to be transparent with staff about the situation.
AJK views the government’s failure to allocate the budget for the second half of the year as increased political pressure on the public broadcaster by the outgoing Kurti administration.
It is time for the government to explore all legal avenues to release the funds owed to RTK.
AJK stands in solidarity with RTK employees and acknowledges their vital role in providing information in the public interest.
