Today, the Executive Director of the Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AGK), Getoarbë Mulliqi, together with AGK’s legal representative, Yll Zekaj, held a working meeting with representatives of the Kosovo Police: Major Baki Kelani, Director of the Directorate for Information and Public Relations, and Captain Fadil Haliti, Head of the Major Crimes Investigation Sector.

The meeting focused on institutional cooperation between AGK and the Kosovo Police, with particular emphasis on a shared database for cases involving attacks, threats, and other forms of pressure against journalists.

The parties also discussed strengthening coordination and direct communication, especially in urgent cases, to ensure rapid and effective responses to incidents that threaten journalists’ physical safety—both while reporting in the field and in other sensitive situations.

During the meeting, the need for regular reporting and information exchange between AGK and the Kosovo Police was highlighted, to ensure that every reported case is treated as a priority and addressed in a timely manner.

AGK and the Kosovo Police reaffirmed their commitment to continue and deepen institutional cooperation through coordinated activities and shared mechanisms, aiming to enhance journalists’ physical security and create a safer environment for the practice of journalism in Kosovo.
