AJK expresses full support for RTK Employees
The Chairperson of the Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AJK), Xhemajl Rexha, along with board members and Executive Director Getoarbë Mulliqi, participated on Wednesday in a protest organized by the RTK Workers’ Union (SPERTK).
AJK strongly supports the demands of RTK employees and calls on the Government of Kosovo to urgently explore all legal avenues to ensure the public broadcaster receives the budget it is entitled to.
Journalists, camera operators, editors, and all RTK staff must not be forced to work under financial pressure such as unpaid wages or political pressure, which remains a recurring issue coming from the Government of Kosovo.
AJK reaffirms the vital role of the Public Broadcaster in Kosovo’s media landscape, especially its mission to provide timely and accurate information in the languages of all communities living in the country.
AJK stands ready to support any form of protest the RTK Workers’ Union deems necessary in order to address the ongoing budget crisis.
