AJK condemns personal attacks by VV’s Dejona Mihali against journalist Adriatik Kelmendi
The Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AJK) is deeply concerned by the continued use of unacceptable and inflammatory rhetoric against journalists by the Vetëvendosje (VV) party.
AJK strongly condemns the personal and familial attack launched by Dejona Mihali, a representative of this political party, against journalist and host of the television program Rubikon, Adriatik Kelmendi.
Mihali, along with other VV officials, has persisted in making serious attacks on journalists and media outlets, particularly following the publication of the Reporters Without Borders (RSF) ranking, which placed Kosovo 99th in terms of media freedom.
The reactions from Vetëvendosje and its officials have triggered hundreds of threatening comments targeting journalists, media organizations, and AJK over the past three days.
AJK once again calls on this political party to change its approach and cease its ongoing efforts to undermine media freedom and freedom of expression in Kosovo.
