AJK Condemns Cyberattacks Against Reporteri.net
The Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AJK) has been informed of a series of coordinated cyberattacks targeting the social media accounts of the online news outlet Reporteri.net over the past 48 hours.
As a result of these attacks, the outlet’s Instagram account has been temporarily suspended, and its Facebook page has also been taken down. The management of Reporteri.net has confirmed that the threats appear to originate from a phone number based in Canada.
The leadership of Reporteri.net has reported the case to the Kosovo Police. AJK calls on the Cybercrime Unit to respond urgently, identify those responsible for the attacks, and initiate the necessary legal procedures.
AJK strongly condemns these attacks against Reporteri.net, viewing them as deliberate attempts to undermine media freedom and freedom of expression in Kosovo. Such actions are unacceptable and constitute a direct threat to democratic principles and independent journalism.
