Attacks on media outlets and organizations, Kallxo.com, Prishtinë, 15.07.2026
The Mayor of Obiliq, Halil Thaçi, today publicly attacked the online media outlet KALLXO.com, casting doubt on its reporting on the land expropriation process in the village of Shipitullë.
The Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AJK) strongly condemns this unprecedented statement, which employs threatening rhetoric against the media outlet, its journalist, and the author of the article, Shqipron Xhema. Such conduct seeks to undermine media freedom and the ability of journalists to carry out their professional and investigative work independently and in the public interest.
AJK calls on Mr. Thaçi and other public officials to provide information on issues covered by the media in an open and transparent manner, rather than resorting to the intimidation of journalists.
KALLXO.com has announced that it will file an urgent defamation lawsuit against the Mayor of Obiliq.
