Actual attacks to journalists Blerta Zuka and camera operator Enkelej Shaljani, Gjilan, 25.06.2026

Journalist Blerta Zuka and cameraman Enkelej Shaljani were attacked today while reporting in Gjilan. The incident occurred while the TV Dukagjini team was producing a news report on construction works in the city’s main square. A worker from the company carrying out the works physically pushed the team and prevented them from continuing their work.

AJK strongly condemns this attack and considers it a violent obstruction of professional journalistic activity and an attack on media freedom in the country.

AJK calls on the Municipality of Gjilan, which is responsible for the works, to distance itself from this act, and urges law enforcement and judicial authorities to act swiftly and effectively to hold the perpetrator accountable.

Journalists must be allowed to carry out their work freely in the public interest.
