Attacks on media outlets and organizations RTK, Prishtinë, 05.06.2026
The Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AJK) stands in full solidarity with the journalists, camera operators, and other employees of the Public Broadcaster of Kosovo (RTK), who have still not received their salaries for the previous month.
The three RTK unions—the Independent Trade Union of RTK, the RTK Employees’ Union, and the Radio Kosovo Trade Union Association—have announced a protest for Tuesday. AJK supports this protest and will join it.
The Association of Journalists of Kosovo is alarmed by RTK’s current financial situation, which has once again left its 700 employees without their salaries.
AJK calls on RTK’s Board and Management to work towards finding an urgent solution so that salaries can be processed and paid without further delay.
AJK also calls on the Government of Kosovo, which continues to allocate only minimal funding to RTK, to assist within its mandate in overcoming this difficult situation. At the same time, AJK urges the Government to refrain from interference and pressure on the editorial independence of the public broadcaster.
AJK advocates for dignified working conditions for RTK employees, some of whom have for some time been facing various forms of pressure from management.
