Attacks on Media Outlets and Media Organizations, Mitrovica, 08.02.2025

The Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AJK) strongly condemns the act of vandalism against the offices of the news portal Veriu.info, where unidentified individuals shattered the building’s windows. This attack, which occurred on the last day of the election campaign, represents yet another attempt to intimidate and obstruct the work of journalists in Kosovo.

AJK has contacted the director of this media outlet, Gazmend Morina, to express its support and calls on the Kosovo Police to urgently investigate the case, identify the perpetrators, and bring them to justice.

Attacks and acts of vandalism against the media pose a direct threat to press freedom and the public’s right to be informed. AJK reiterates its ongoing call for a safe and free environment for journalists in Kosovo and urges the relevant institutions to ensure their protection.
