The Association of Journalists of Kosovo - AJK, has sent a letter to the Chief Prosecutor of the Prishtina Basic Prosecutor's Office, asking for explanations regarding the investigations against journalists Vehbi Kajtazi and Lirim Mehmetaj.

AJK is deeply concerned regarding this situation and wants to ensure that these investigations are not politically motivated, and that freedom of the press and freedom of expression are fully respected.

Associations Respond The Association of Journalists of Kosovo - AJK, today has sent a letter to the Chief Prosecutor of the Prishtina Basic Prosecutor's Office, asking for explanations regarding the investigations against journalists Vehbi Kajtazi and Lirim Mehmetaj. AJK is deeply concerned regarding this situation and wants to ensure that these investigations are not politically motivated, and that freedom of the press and freedom of expression are fully respected. AJK has also requested a meeting with the Chief Prosecutor to discuss the case and to protect the rights of journalists. AJK will continue to monitor this development closely, while it invites all involved parties not to violate democratic principles and by any means not to violate the freedom of expression, journalists, media and the right to information.
