Training of Trainers (ToT) on Dealing with the Past and Conflict-Sensitive Reporting
Pro Peace – Program in Kosovo (former ForumZFD) and the Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AJK) announce a call for applications for a Training of Trainers (ToT) in the field of dealing with the past (DP) and conflict-sensitive reporting, dedicated to experienced journalists and media professionals.
The purpose of this ToT is to build participants’ capacity to act as trainers and mentors, contributing to professional, ethical, and responsible reporting on sensitive topics related to the past, conflict, and reconciliation.
Training Modules
23–25 April 2026
The training will take place over three intensive days through advanced modules:
Journalism and Reporting on the Past
Concepts and fundamentals of journalism for reporting on the past, the role of media in addressing sensitive topics, and professional responsibility in reporting on conflicts and their consequences.
Trainer: Prof. Dr. Dinko Gruhonjić
Women Journalists Covering War, Conflict, and Memory
Integration of gender-sensitive approaches and trauma-informed journalism in reporting on war crimes, violence, and survivors’ experiences.
Trainer: Serbeze Haxhiaj
The Role of Journalism in Addressing Conflict Issues and Public Dialogue
The importance of professional and balanced reporting in building public dialogue and addressing sensitive topics related to conflict and the past.
Trainer: Adriatik Kelmendi
The Importance of Photography in Conflict Reporting
Use of photography and imagery in journalism, their impact on shaping narratives, and ethical responsibility in documenting sensitive topics.
Trainer: Ridvan Slivova
In addition to participating in the training, selected journalists will have the opportunity to develop and publish an in-depth journalistic article addressing topics related to dealing with the past, collective memory, and conflict-sensitive reporting.
