CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: ANNUAL JOURNALISM AWARDS 2024
The Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AJK), in close partnership with the Mission in Kosovo of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), with the support of USAID, UN Women - office in Kosovo, forumZFD, the British Embassy in Pristina, the Voice of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians and the "Think Green, Act Green" campaign, announces the opening of the competition for the Annual Awards for Journalism.
Through these awards, we intend to honor journalists who have published stories in 2024, either independently or as employees of different media. The main aim is to evaluate media reporting to inspire journalists to continue covering topics which are important for the audience.
The winners of the Annual Journalism Awards will be journalists and cameramen/photojournalists, who despite difficult circumstances, produce news, information and research that have a significant impact in Kosovo.
Journalists from all over Kosovo, regardless of age, gender or community, whose story was published between November 19, 2023 and November 18, 2024, are invited to apply.
Journalists can be nominated by their newsroom or be self-nominated. In both cases, a letter justifying the nomination for journalist of the year must be sent to the AJK email address, alongside the attached links to the work of the nominated journalist.

Journalists have the right to compete with only one story or cycle of stories, which deals with the same topic and only in one category.

4. The best cameraman / camerawoman of the year
5. Journalism award for women's empowerment (first, second and third place)
6. Best sports reporting
7. Best reporting on anti-gypsyism (first, second and third place)
8. Award for best conflict sensitive reporting
9. Best health reporting
10. Award for gender responsive reporting on women's property rights
11. Award for reporting on climate change and sustainable development
12. Award for the best reporting on trust-building
