The Association of Journalists of Kosovo - AJK, and UNHCR - the UN Refugee Agency, held a workshop in which reporting on migration and refugee issues was discussed.

This discussion was moderated by AJK vice-president, Naile Dema - Selmani, and part of the panel were Mehmet Krasniqi - AJK board member, Derandi Krasniqi from UNHCR OCM, Shpend Qamili - UNKT, Stylia Kampani - IOM and Lyudmila Makey, Ukrainian journalist, who is living in Kosovo as part of the Journalists in Residence program.

The focus of this discussion was the challenges faced by migrants and refugees, as well as media reporting, namely the combating of disinformation related to media reporting on migrants and refugees.

Mehmet Krasniqi, AJK board member, said that thanks to the Journalists in Residence project, which is financed and supported by the German and Republic of Kosovo governments, the journalist Lyudmila and her colleagues are able to live in Kosovo and carry out their profession.

Krasniqi said that a total of 19 Ukrainian journalists have benefited from the "Journalists in Residence" project and that currently 14 of them continue to live and work in Kosovo, as well as 5 Afghan journalists who have taken refuge in Kosovo due to the crisis in Afghanistan.

Ukrainian journalist, Lyudmila Makey, said that the "Journalists in Residence" program is unique because Ukrainian journalists are offered the opportunity to continue practicing their profession. She invited all her journalist colleagues to visit Ukraine after the end of the war, and also spoke about all the activities done in Kosovo through which she and her journalist colleagues have presented the traditions and identity of the Ukraine.

In the end, journalists from different media companies in Kosovo also spoke about their experiences that they had during reporting in their work, related to the issues that affected migrants and refugees.
