Attacks on media outlets and organizations, Prishtinë, 16.05.2025
Vetëvendosje (Guxo) MP Donika Gërvalla Schwarz has publicly attacked journalists and media outlets in at least two Facebook posts, while defending fellow MP Faton Peci.
The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs wrote, "You, who are anything but journalists, continue with lies and fabrications,"and further added, "Let me not call these people who are clearly not journalists, mercenaries of lies and deceit."
AJK strongly condemns this unacceptable language from a senior official of the political party that has led Kosovo over the past four years. AJK reminds that such orchestrated attacks have significantly contributed to Kosovo’s poor ranking in the region in terms of media freedom.
AJK calls on Vetëvendosje and its minor allies to immediately cease using inflammatory rhetoric against media and journalists.
