Obstruction towards journalist Genc Godanci, Prishtinë, 02.05.2025

The Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AJK) strongly condemns the obstruction that the close protection of Prime Minister Kurti made today to the journalist of T7, Genc Godanci, while he was trying to ask him questions about the Reporters Without Borders' Media Freedom Index.

One of the members of the close protection is seen twice physically grabbing the journalist's hand, and another presents the second obstacle in the attempt to get answers.

This is not the first time that journalists have been violently obstructed by the close protection in the presence of the acting Prime Minister, Kurti.

AJK calls on the Kosovo Police and the acting Prime Minister to establish proper working conditions for journalists seeking responses from high-ranking officials in public.
