Derogatory campaign against Nacionale and its journalists, Prizren, 15.08.2023

The Association of Journalists of Kosovo is deeply concerned with the derogatory campaign against the web portal Nacionale and its journalists.

On a banner in Prizren, where images of journalists Vullnet Krasniqi and Berat Buzhala can be seen, it is written, "Justice for the people, punishment for the slanders. Boycott Nacionale. Freedom of expression ends where offense begins".

Such an action, for the Association of Journalists of Kosovo, is completely inappropriate and puts journalists and their families at risk of both online and physical attacks.

AJK urges that the banners be removed and that the action, which contains hate speech and incitement, be investigated by the Kosovo Police and other competent authorities. Furthermore, AJK urges that such insulting initiatives be stopped so that journalists and the media can do their jobs freely.
